Just back from round nine at Oulton Park which was a one day race meeting with double points.

I had never ridden at Oulton Park before so I spent the three 15 minute practise sessions on Friday morning learning the track. After the lunch break we went straight into qualifying, where I managed to qualify in pole position 0.9 seconds ahead of second place!

I got a good start in race one and led for the first four laps, on lap five I left a gap and got passed by second place but managed to regain the lead within the next two corners, getting my first win of the weekend! I got the fastest lap of the race, a 2.01.200 In race two I got a great start and managed to lead for the whole race, winning by 12.6 seconds and stretching my lead in the championship to 87 points.

The Aprilia Superteen races from Oulton Park will be shown on MotorsTV (Sky 447, Virgin 545, Freeview 240HD) on Thursday 3rd of July at 9:30pm. Coverage from all the previous Aprilia Superteen rounds is available to view via the Thundersport i-player.

We travelled home on Saturday evening as on Sunday I was racing at Knockhill on my GP125 in the Scottish Lightweight class. It was only my second meeting on the GP125 and despite having to start from the back of the grid I managed to put in some really good lap times and battle my way up to fifth position in race one but then unfortunately I high sided at the last corner on the last lap! Dad managed to fix the damage to the bike and although I was still sore from the crash I managed to finish with a sixth and a fifth place in the next two races.

Overall I am really happy with my weekend, with my results at Oulton and with my lap times at Knockhill as compared with last year’s Knockhill BSB Motostar race lap times, I would have been seventh fastest in the GP125 class and 10th fastest overall with the Moto3 250cc bikes included.

A great weekend, I enjoyed racing both bikes at two great tracks.
